All members of VFW Post 970 shall be eligible to hold any office in VFW Post 970, provided that proof of eligibility has been submitted and verified by the Post Commander and Post Adjutant prior to the installation.
Nomination of Post officers shall start in the regularly schedule Post meeting in March and remain open until the Post’s regularly schedule Post meeting in April.
The order of nominations and election shall be Commander, Senior Vice Commander, Junior Vice Commander, Quartermaster, Chaplain, and 3rd Year Trustees.
No member shall hold two elective Post offers positions at the same time.
Post officers shall be elected in the regularly schedule Post meeting in April.
The Commander shall appoint with approval by membership, an Adjutant, Service Officer, Judge Advocate, Surgeon, Officer of the Day and/or Post Guard.
Any officer elected or appointed, whose membership is not in good standing by reason of failure to pay current dues by their anniversary date shall forfeit eligibility to hold any office in that administrative year.
