We are the Colonel Horace Hickam Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 970. Chartered on Hickam AFB, Hawaii in 1980, we are one of the most active VFW Post in the state of Hawaii.
A large portion of our membership comes from the National Guard, Reserve, and Active Duty members working on or around Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam. We welcome all qualified veterans from all branches no matter where you work or live.
Purpose of the VFW
The purpose of the corporation are fraternal, patriotic, historical, and educational; and are: to preserve and strengthen comradeship among its members; to assist worthy comrades; to perpetuate the memory and history of our dead, and to assist their surviving spouses and orphans; to maintain true allegiance to the Government of the United States of America, and fidelity to its Constitution and laws; to foster true patriotism; to maintain and extend the institutions of American freedom, and to preserve and defend the United States from all her enemies.
